How To Distinguish Between Various USB Connectors
This guide is meant to show you all the standard USB connectors. If you have a USB cable and one of the connectors is not shown here it is very likely a custom cable created by the manufacturer. This is very common with MP3 players and cell phones but some do use standard connectors.
USB Female A:

This connector is the standard USB port found on your computer and USB hubs.
USB Female B:

This connector is found on most USB printers, scanners and many older digital cameras. This is the female end that your USB cables plugs into.
USB Male A:

This connector is the end of your USB cable that plugs into your computer or USB hub.
USB Male B:

This connector is the other end of USB cable that plugs into most USB printers, scanners and many older digital cameras.
USB Male Mini 5 Pin:

This small connector is found on the cable used for many digital cameras, MP3 players and other small electronics devices.
USB Female Mini 5 Pin:

This small connector is found on many digital cameras, MP3 players and other small electronics devices.
USB Male Mini 4 Pin:

This small connector is found on the cable used for many digital cameras, MP3 players and other small electronics devices.
